Weekly Harvest Post!

For the past several years, I’ve sighed wistfully upon seeing various gardening blogs put up their weekly harvest tallies. I’d sadly poke at the few pots next to the kitchen window and make mental lists of all the things I’d grow if I actually had a decent piece of land. Well, guess what? This is the first year I’ve actually had the space to do a proper garden and I’m going for it! Cucumber Mandarin Salad with Smoked Salmon

It’s been in the 80’s for the past week, which I realize isn’t entirely miserable compared to the hideous triple-digit heat wave that large parts of the US seem to be currently facing. Still, extra-long summer days mean that everything stays heated throughout the short, unforgiving night and the moderate humidity always makes temperatures feel hotter than they are. There’s also the thing where we’re on the third floor, so are getting all the heat rising from the lower two floors.
