Yet another in my coat-and-cardi wish list post series, partially spurred on my friend Karen’s similar obsession with outerwear. I do regularly go through online websites and pull photos of pretty stuff for my own files anyway, so it’s rather fun to share them with people at the same time. Some autumnal window-shopping.

Yesterday’s post got me in the mood to look at more outerwear, so I swung by one of my favorite places to shop in the autumn, the US Anthropologie site. They always have such a pretty collection of coats and sweaters — even if the prices are sometimes a bit on the steep side, they’re great for inspiration. I haven’t made a jacket from scratch since design school, but I probably will get around to it one of these days, when I’m in the mood for doing something with finicky tailoring. Frilly goodness for fall.

Did a bit of shopping on ASOS.com this past week, since I needed some new coats and such for the coming autumn months. Got a few pieces of outerwear, then had to pick up some marked-down summer stuff as well. I’m a year-round dress wearer — the quick addition of a turtleneck and thick tights are all you really need to take most dresses into cold season. Besides, short full skirts with tall boots are one of my favorite pairings. I can’t wait to finally break out my boots, scarves, gloves and hats! Funny thing about putting all these items …
