I’ve done more than a handful of custom orders over the years. I take personal commissions when I have time between larger projects, based mostly on (1) how obsessed I currently am with that particular fandom or timeframe and/or (2) how challenging it promises to be. Construction is its own joy when you see something gain personality with every stitch.
Requests for custom recreations of animated costumes occasionally come my way. They are usually fun (lots of colors and interesting lines) but it can sometimes get tricky finding a good fabric match and construction technique for the odder projects.
Kagura Sohma costume from Fruits Basket, for a friend. This was back in, oh, 2005?
