Hey, cool!

I just took a peek at my DeadJournal, which I haven’t updated since 2001, and found out that they’d made me an Early Adopter! Sigh. All those perks and I rarely even use the thing. Almost tempts me to try…

Webfussing.

Psst, msjul and crownzeal! Webhosting back online under new domain name. All the stuff is still there, including your upload folders. Going through it slowly to clean up before the major rehaul. Do you guys still need the space, or the items in there? Let me know 🙂

Am waiting patiently for my new domain name to propagate, thus allowing my old website to return. It was never really offline, it just reverted back to an IP address after I let the giddyupnow domain lapse. Have since registered a new one to point there, so vast updates and a complete rehaul are probably in order to make everything correspond properly. How long does it take for a domain to take root, a couple of days? It’s been so long since I’ve had to do this that I can’t remember. Right, so I was going to post about hobbies …

*kicks LJ*

Just like old times again, I’m giving LJ a sound thwap over the head even as I happily pounce its many lovely users. Things haven’t gotten any less annoying, technology-wise, I see. Friending too many people in too short a time, my ass. When did they come up with that new rule? Probably to deter those annoying serial spammers from a few years back, I suppose. Still, it’s quite annoying when you’re trying to transfer accounts. Shouldn’t they have a program that does that by now? *sighs* Okay, so I suppose I’ll come back tomorrow and try to add the …

Journal relocation complete! Pierydys is the new Giddyupnow. And also the old one. Ah, whatever.

So, about a year ago, I mentioned in the now defunct giddyupnow journal that I was moving everything over here to make life a little easier. In that way where it had originally been part of this journal, then separated to house only fandom content, and now is being reincorporated anyways. Eh, I’m an odd duck. Yes, it took me a full year to slog through years of posts and copy them over to this account, but it’s finally done. Done, I say! *does manic dance of joyous accomplishment* Happily, it looks like those of you that I actually wanted …

Lupin and Snape spend half of their time arguing with each other and the other half fighting over the same bed. 5. home decorating kinks

I’ve decided that when we get our house next year? In addition to furnishing most of the living spaces purely in cushions, pillows, blankets and rugs, I want a fully-operational Jurassic Park series ride&shoot arcade game smack dab in the middle of the living room. I’ve been in love with these things since the very first version came out in 1993 or so, mind you. The one at our local AMC ended up seeing many a week’s allowance. Only, like, we’d modify the software with a few improvements, because you really should be allowed to take potshots while the giant …

My Eudora is bulimic.

Huh. I just unsubscribed from about twenty mailing lists after spending more than a year (or two. or three) ghosting and skimming most of them. The compulsive organizational freak in me finally got the upper hand on my inner packrat, and my inbox and yahoogroups account were laid waste in little under ten minutes. I knew it was coming, it’s just so weird, to see all those mailboxes and filters gone. What will I do without all that mail to delete and then feel guilty for not reading?

The screen on my monitor turned red last week and has been slowly dimming ever since. I sympathize with it, in a strange way. Hopefully, it’ll hold out until next week, so I can at least transfer everything over to the laptop for the trip and then drop it off to be fixed in my absence. I like my monitor. It’s not one of those beige horrors with the funny speaker ears that everybody and their mother has. It’s a big sleek black thing that people always mistake for a television, except that it has feathered voodoo figures, wildlife stickers …
